Indo Count Industries (ICIL) one of the major manufacturers and exporters of home textiles in India will be aggressively push fashion bedding products in the coming years. The company will be aggressively expanding product portfolio for fashion bedding, utility bedding, and institutional bedding. These are the premium products where margins will be higher as compared to traditional home textile products.
Presently, share of fashion bedding in company’s overall revenue is about 14% and the company aims to take this to 25‐30% over the next three years. The company will focus on manufacturing super soft, easy care, wrinkle free, true grip, and eco‐friendly products where the margins will be lucrative.
To achieve its objective, Indo Count is investing in its weaving capacity. Presently, only 10% of its weaving requirements are met through inhouse facilities. The company is incurring a capex of Rs 300 crore and after the completion of its project nearly 30% of its weaving requirements will be met inhouse.
The global home textiles market is estimated at US$ 45bn, of which bath products constitute 25% and bed linen 35%. USA, Europe and Japan are the largest consumers, with USA constituting around 33% of the world home textile market. India, Pakistan, China, Vietnam and Bangladesh are the largest producers supplying 80% of global home textile demand.
