Consumer electronics firm Intex Technologies is aiming to capture 5-6 per cent share of the domestic air-conditioner (AC) market in the next three years.
Intex entered the Indian AC market in March 2017 and sold around 75,000 ACs in one year. In 2018-19, the company plans to sell 1.5 lakh units. The company recently launched new range of ACs, to be available in 14 models across three categories. Indian AC market was 3 million in 2014, which is expected to go up to 5.5 million in 2018, and reach around 7 million units by 2020. However, penetration of ACs in the masses is very low in India as compared to the global average.
