Reliance Industries is likely to tie-up with mPrest

Among the 10 major MoUs to be signed between Indian and Israeli companies during the visit of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to India, perhaps the most important one is to be signed between Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries (RIL) and Israeli tech major mPrest. mPrest is part of the largest-ever business delegation from Israel, which would accompany the Israeli PM. This proposed tie-up may help RIL’s move to get deep into the big data, defense, critical infrastructure space and most importantly, smart city initiatives.

Through this agreement RIL would get access to next-level technology on a number of mission-critical monitoring systems, big data analytics software for power utilities, industrial Internet of Things (IoT), smart cities, critical infrastructure and the defense sector.

mPrest is a global provider of mission-critical monitoring and control solutions for the defense, security, utility and Industrial Internet of Things (IoT) sectors. mPrest Systems is a private Israeli company, producing C4I applications. It serves commercial companies as well as military and law enforcement agencies.

The tie-up would help RIL’s energy business, as well as its telecom business. The company’s anticipated foray into “Smart City” projects may also get a boost through this tie-up by helping the company in loading up on back-end tech to develop India-specific solutions.
