Weatherseal, Bengaluru-based un-plasticised polyvinyl chloride (uPVC) door and window maker, has set up its first experience store in Hyderabad. The company already has a store in Bengaluru. In Hyderabad, the company will be targeting villa and independent house owners. The experience centre in Banjara Hills spread over 1,200 sq ft. will cater to builders, retail and individual home owners. The company also has plans to spread into tier-2 cities of Telangana with five dealer outlets.
So far, the company has installed 1 million sq ft of windows and doors, with windows accounting for about 60 per cent. The company has its manufacturing unit in Bengaluru which is based on European technology and manufactures slide and fold doors as well as noise-proof windows. uPVC doors and windows are becoming popular nowadays as they are resistant towards heat, dust, cold, sound, fire and water. The company sources its raw materials from 80-year old Belgium-based Deceuninck NV. The company uses automation in its processes that helps to customise windows and systems.
In the coming months, Weatherseal plans to expand its experience centres within Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Also on the anvil are new centres in Chennai and Mumbai in the next one year. The company is also exploring the franchisee route to spread its presence nationally.
