Xylem India, a company promoted by Xylem Inc., has opened a technical centre in Bengaluru to develop products and solutions with a focus on software and advanced infrastructure analytics.

The centre would initially house 60 technologists and would over the next three to four years have nearly 400 technologists and engineers to cater to the needs of not only India but also global clients, Company President and CEO Patrick Decker told at a press conference.

The company is already sourcing components and systems worth $ 80 million from India besides exporting total water solution systems to the tune of $ 15 m to its customers in the Asian region.

This was expected to grow significantly in the coming years, Mr Decker said stating that the company was witnessing a double digit growth over the last few years.

At present, Xylem India has its Technology Centre and manufacturing facility in Baroda and sales offices in Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, and Pune. The total number of employees in India exceeds 200.
