Andhra Pradesh is planning to create a hub for manufacturing construction material. The proposed Construction City will come up at Donakonda in Prakasam district and will be built on Chinese model. Every material relating to the construction industry would be made available there. Further, it would be developed as a centre for innovations and technological developments in construction sector.
The main objective of this project is to manufacture affordable, durable, and attractively designed construction material. The city would be spread across 61.77 acres. Already, 610 firms have expressed interest. The area would begin as a trade centre, and later turn into a hub for construction material manufacturing.
It may be recalled here that a few months ago KEF Infra had announced its plans to set up Construction Building Manufacturing Park in neighbouring Telangana in association with the state government. KEF Infra is planning to invest Rs 650 crore on the Park which will be spread over 200-250 acres of land. KEF Infra is a division of KEF Holdings, a multinational diversified Group with operations in strategic investments, infrastructure manufacturing, and healthcare development, across India, UAE and Singapore.
