The Vice President of India, M. Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated the State-of-the-art Architecture Block in the campus of REVA University in Bengaluru yesterday. Speaking on the occasion, the Vice President said that a world-class higher education system was the need of the hour. He said that India’s quest for development would remain unfulfilled if we fail to create opportunities for quality higher education till the last mile.
“I understand that the School of Architecture at REVA is participating in the Smart City Project. I am sure that your contribution in planning of cities, ensuring sustainability and energy conservation will bring about a paradigm shift in urban planning,” the Vice President said on the occasion.
REVA University has been established under the REVA University Act, 2012. The University is located in Bengaluru on a sprawling green campus, spread over 45 acres of land, built with state-of-the-art infrastructure creating an environment conducive to higher learning and research. The University currently offers 24 Full-time Post Graduate Programs, 5 Part-time Post Graduate programs, 21 Graduate programs, several Certificate/Diploma and Post graduate Diploma programs in Engineering, Architecture, Science & Technology, Commerce, Management Studies, Law, Arts & Humanities and Performing Arts.
The School of Architecture at REVA supported by DivyaSree Developers who have nearly four decades of experience in Architecture, Construction and Infrastructure development, presently offers B. Arch. program of five years, recognized by Council of Architecture. It facilitates multidisciplinary research to deal with the complexities of human settlements as a whole. The School has developed a network of top architects and designers and have involved them in teaching and guiding, It has a vision to train learners who should be sensitive towards pain, plight, pleasure, happiness, comfort, leisure, aspirations, expectations of people and responsive towards nature, environment, society and nation, coupled with ethics and human values.
