Super hit film Baahubali’s director gave a presentation of designs of the architecture of the Assembly, and the administrative city of Amaravati to the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, a couple of days back. It may be recalled here that the Norman Fosters, a British design firm had been entrusted with the task of designing the Assembly, and the administrative city. The firm had recently submitted two designs for the Secretariat which has been kept in public domain for public opinion.

In the meeting, Rajamouli reportedly gave a presentation on the designs created by the firm. The CM was not impressed by the initial designs provided by the firm and Rajamouli was flown to London to have deliberations with the design firm and chalk out fresh designs.

The decision of the Chief Minister to include the famous film director in the advisory team for construction of the AP capital had come under severe criticism from various quarters. Many had questioned the qualification of the film director to comment and give opinion on the design created by a design firm of international repute. However, Rajamouli had clarified that he was neither consultant nor a designer nor a supervisor of the project and he was just helping to design the Assembly in a much iconic manner.

Popular two-part film series ‘Baahubali’ became famous for its graphics and mind-blowing sets. The CM was reportedly impressed with the sets of Mahishmathi, the kingdom in ‘Baahubali’ and wanted the director to be part of the Capital City project and share his creative ideas for the project.
