The newly revamped online system of Building Plan Approval and Management System (BPAMS) will make the process of getting building plan approval from Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) for properties in BDA-approved layouts much easier and faster. Also, no inspection of the properties in layouts approved by BDA or Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor Area Planning Authority (BMICAPA) will be required to get the approval since those properties would have been already approved by those authorities.
Till now getting the building plan approval was a cumbersome and time-consuming process involving personal visit to the office of BBMP. Though online uploading of the plan for approval was possible, one still had to go to the office of BBMP to receive the approval from the officials since there was no online gateway. However, this soon will become a thing of past as the software is being upgraded. The new software is expected to be ready by early November.
Under the new plan, the plan approval system has been classified on the basis of risk-based classification: very low risk, low risk, moderate risk and high risk. As per this plan, the central office has to pass the file in 30 days and the zonal offices have to pass it in 15 days.
