Divisional Railway Manager’s offices at Bhavnagar has won the first prize at the 30th National Energy Conservation Awards (NECA) under Building category organised by Ministry of Power, in association with Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE). This year, due to the COVID pandemic, the function was organised as a Hybrid event transmitted from Vigyan Bhawan. Stakeholders from across the country and the Awardees participated through virtual platform.
Divisional Railway Manager’s offices at Rajkot has bagged the second prize at the event while Lekha Bhavan (Financial Advisor and Chief Accounts Officer), Secunderabad (Telangana) and Electrical Department DRM Office, North Eastern Railways, Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) have won Certificate of Merit.
Under Corporate Offices category, UN House, Dwarka, New Delhi has won the first prize while Candor Gurgaon One Realty Projects Pvt Ltd, Gurgaon, Haryana has come second. Allianz Technology SE along with Allianz Services Pvt Ltd, Trivandrum, Kerala and WNS Global Services (P) Ltd., Weikfield IT CITI INFOPARK, Pune, Maharashtra have won the Certificate of Merit.
Voltas has won award for both fixed speed and variable speed AC under Appliance of The Year category. These ACs are manufactured by Voltas’ Udham Singh Nagar unit. LED Bulbs by Signify Innovations India Limited, Ceiling Fans by Versa Drives and Storage Type Water Heater by Ariston have won prizes for different products under the same category.
BEE is a statutory body under Ministry of Power which is mandated to implement policy and programmes in energy efficiency and conservation. The objective of such initiatives is to reduce energy intensity in our country by optimizing energy demand and reduce emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG) which are responsible for global warming and climate change.
