The architects and structural engineers have been accused of not fulfilling the conditions laid by the HMDA for granting building permissions. Due to non-fulfilment of criteria and non-submission of required forms by the licensed Architect and Structural Engineers land owners are reportedly facing lot of hardship

Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has served notices to 51 licensed Architect and Structural Engineers for violation of rules. HMDA is the urban planning agency of Hyderabad and administers the Hyderabad Metropolitan Region, spread over an area of 7,257 km2 and covers the districts of Hyderabad district, Medchal district, part of Rangareddy district, Sangareddy district, Medak district, Yadadri district and Siddipet districts

These architects and structural engineers have been accused of not fulfilling the conditions laid by the HMDA for granting building permissions. Due to non-fulfilment of criteria and non-submission of required forms by the licensed Architect and Structural Engineers land owners are reportedly facing lot of hardship. Upon receiving repeated complaints, HDMA issued notices to defaulting architects and structural engineers warning them of cancellation of license if they continue to make such mistakes.

It may be noted that in order to achieve the objective of achieving ease of doing business, HDMA has taken several steps including online submission of applications for development permissions. Now building plans shall be invariably signed by the owner of the property, builder if any, the Architect and the Structural Engineer who designed the structure
