Indian Textile Minister Smriti Irani inaugurated the Indian pavilion at the ongoing Heimtextil 2018 in Frankfurt, Germany. India is the second largest participating country in the fair next only to China. Over 390 Indian companies have come together to showcase the country’s textile expertise at the trade fair. Also, the first trade fair of the year for its sector, Heimtextil 2018 will be a trend barometer for the whole business year, spotlighting new trends and innovations in interior textiles, home furnishings, household textiles and a range of allied services. Among the exhibiting companies at Frankfurt are India’s leading players like Alps Industries, D’Decor, Reliance, Shri Laxmi Cotsyn, Trident and Welspun among others.
Anshul Malhotra, the winner of Interior Lifestyle Awards 2017, is representing India’s design talents. Anshul Malhotra showcased a collection of home textiles and Traditional Handloom Designs in Home furnishing and fabrics made with Yak wool, Himalayan sheep wool, Silk Wool. Leading government bodies including the Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council (TEXPROCIL), Handloom Export Promotion Council (HEPC), and Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) are also participating collectively.
Heimtextil is the biggest international trade fair for home and contract textiles, and is being held in Frankfurt from 9 to 12 January 2018. This is the first trade fair of the year for this sector and 2,975 exhibitors from 64 countries are participating in the fair.
