Kerala State Information Technology Infrastructure Ltd (KSITIL), the Nodal Agency for all IT Infrastructure Developments in Kerala, is planning to construct 12-storey steel structure in Thiruvananthapuram. The proposed IT Office building will come up in the gated campus of Phase 3, Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram. KSITIL has decided to go for steel structure as the time available for completion is limited. KSITIL wants to complete the building within 12 months from the date of finalisation of tender.
The 12 floor steel structure will have an approximate foot print 34,000-sq.ft and will be built on 1.95 acres of land. Proposed IT building will have an approximate built up area of 4.24 lakh sq.ft. Of the 12 floors planned, 3-4 floors will be used for car parking. “Time is the essence of the contract and safety will be the motto and quality will be the highlight of the work,” says KSITIL. The project is estimated to cost Rs 100-110 crore. According to KSITIL, a high-level planning is made to clear the statutory approvals and piling completed, before awarding the Design and Build contract to the steel vendor.
KSITIL is the apex company for pioneering the development of IT/ITES Special Economic Zones (SEZs), IT Townships and IT Parks in the State of Kerala. KSITIL has been mandated by the Government of Kerala to be the vehicle for all IT infrastructure developments in the State in a Private Public Participation (PPP) model. KSITIL enjoys enormous advantages including preferential allocation of land for projects by Government and obtaining necessary clearances from Government. Presently, KSITIL has a large number of ongoing IT SEZ and IT Park projects in hand and a land bank of about 400 acres is already in possession by the company.
