Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA) has finalised a draft Master Plan for the region which will be released shortly for public opinion. Citizens have to express their opinions and objections within 90 days. However, no changes will be made in the Plan once it is approved by the government. KUDA Master Plan will be in force up to 2041. The Master Plan is prepared by LEA Associates South Asia Pvt. Ltd. (LASA), India.
KUDA region in Telangana state is spread over three districts Warangal Rural, Warangal Urban and Jangaon covering 19 mandals and 181 villages with total geographical area of 1,805 sq km.
This is the first Master Plan of KUDA as no master plans were prepared for the city in the past. The draft Master Plan was prepared after conducting a series of meetings with the officials and all the stakeholders. The total population under KUDA limits as per 2011 census is nearly 13 lakhs. However, it is estimated that the population will reach to 30 lakhs by 2041. Keeping this in view, the Master Plan was prepared.
The government is going to acquire land through land pooling for developing a township. A notification in this regard is expected soon.
The Master Plan is geo-tagged and KUDA will soon release a mobile app to teach the citizens about the demarcation of the particular area under KUDA limits. Using this app, a citizen can make out whether piece of land comes under residential zone or park area, nala or industrial zone.
