The LIXIL Asia Pacific, part of Japanese building materials and housing equipment manufacturer, inaugurated its first ceramicware facility in India at Bhimadole in West Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh, yesterday.
In January 2018, LIXIL Corporation had acquired Sentini Sanitarywares Private Limited, including its newly established contemporary sanitaryware plant. After the acquisition, the company was renamed as LIXIL India Sanitarywares Private Limited (LISPL). The production facility was upgraded to meet LIXIL’s standards. Seshagiri Rao Tipirneni, the Chairman of Sentini Group, will continue to be a shareholder and will act as an advisor to the Board of Directors of this entity.
LISPL, the 45-acre state-of-the-art facility is LIXIL’s first ceramicware facility in India and would serve as a central production base for Indian market. The current production capacity of this facility is around 1 million units per annum, scalable to 2 million units annually. The plant will manufacture select range of ceramicware products for LIXIL’s major power brands in Indian market including GROHE, American Standard. While 80% of the production will cater to Indian market, rest will be exported to global markets.
