NBCC India to build Twin Tower in Assam

NBCC India, a blue-chip Government of India Navratna Enterprise under the Ministry of Urban Development, will be setting up a Twin Tower Trade Centre in Guwahati with a project cost of Rs. 2000 crore in self-financing mode. An MoU between the Government of Assam and NBCC (India) to this effect has been signed on February 02, 2018.

The Twin Tower will be built at Basistha Crossing near NH-37. The construction work of the Twin Tower will commence from July 2018 and will be completed in 60 months. NBCC will be using green technologies and the structure would reflect rich natural heritage and culture of Assam.

65-storey Twin Tower Trade Centre will be built on a 32-bigha plot (a bigha equals 14,400 square feet in Assam). Till date, the tallest existing structure in Guwahati has G+15 floors. In 2013, the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) had granted environmental clearance to a 20-storey apartment complex.

NBCC (India) Limited, formerly known as National Buildings Construction Corporation Ltd., has been executing many Landmark Projects as a PMC which contributes to about 85% of its annual revenue. The Real Estate segment of the Company which came into being in 1988, mainly executing Commercial Real Estate Projects, today has undergone a sea change operation wise. NBCC has been operating in Infrastructure Segment as well called EPC, wherein it has been executing projects such as Chimneys, Cooling Towers, and various types of Power Plant Works.
