Professional movement in urban planning

Lot of recruitment is taking place in urban planning sector and that too with an emphasis on transport planning. Most of these projects (almost all) are coming up in public sector. Here is the list of some recruitments in urban planning sector in last few weeks.

Ashish Batra has been appointed as General Manager (Architecture and Urban Planning) at Almondz Global Infra Consultant Ltd. Currently, Ashish is working on master plans for 7 towns in Uttar Pradesh under the AMRUT Mission. Ashish has done B. Arch from Department of Architecture, GNDU, Amritsar and also has a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning from Guru Ramdas School of Planning, GNDU, Amritsar. He is currently pursuing doctoral research (PhD) in urban planning from the same institution.

Brandon Alvestine Almeida is now an Urban Planner at Tata Institute of Social Sciences. He is currently working as an in-house consultant for the constitution of Mumbai Parking Authority with the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai. Brandon has done his B. Arch from Mumbai University and has done Master of Planning in Environmental Planning from School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. He also has Master’s degree in Tourism and Environmental Law from National Law University, Delhi.

Dileep Chakravarthy has been appointed as Associate Vice President at Ernst & Young Global Consulting Services. Dileep has experience of working in more than 14 Urban Development Departments of various states & cities for preparation of City Development Plans, City Sanitation Plans, River Front Development Plan, etc. Dileep is B. Tech in Urban Planning from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University and has done his Masters in Infrastructure Planning from CEPT University.

Kabilan Murugan is now an Engineering Consultant at L&T Infrastructure Engineering Limited. Kabilan is experienced in developing traditional Four Stage Model Calibration and Validation using CUBE 6.4.2 and also in sustainable transport planning with emphasis on public transport oriented planning. Kabilan has done B.E. in civil engineering from R.M.K Engineering College and M.E. in Transport Engineering from College of Engineering, Guindy.

Prateek Rautela has been appointed as an Urban Transport Planner at SYSTRA, one of the world’s leading engineering and consultancy groups specialising in public transport and mobility solutions. Prateek has done Bachelor of Planning from Amity University and has done Master of Technology Urban Planning in City/Urban, Community, Transport and Regional Planning from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.
