As all efforts of the government – at Central, State and Local Bodies level – are focused on combating COVID-19, there is not much activity on recruitment for urban planning. Here is the short list of people who have made moves on professional front.
Ankita Mandal, an Urban and Environmental Planner, is now Research Associate, Climate Centre for Cities at National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA). Before joining NIUA, Ankita was Assistant Professor at School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. Ankita has done Bachelor’s Degree in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning and Master’s Degree in Environment Planning, both from School of Planning and Architecture.
Nikita Jani, an aspiring urban designer, has joined Ahmedabad based HCP Design, Planning & Management Pvt Ltd. Nikita who has proficiency in articulative and cognitive skills was earlier working with Khyati Associates as Junior Architect. Nikita has done B. Arch from Anant Institute of Architecture and Master of Urban Design from CEPT University.
Shloka Nath is now Head – Sustainability and Special Projects at Tata Trusts. She is also the Executive Director, India Climate Collaborative and Vice President, Bombay Natural History Society. As Head – Sustainability and Special Projects at Tata Trusts she will lead the organization’s work on climate, energy and environment, implementing and funding sustainable and scalable solutions that help both people and nature thrive through India. Shloka has done BSc from London School of Economics and Political Science, University of London and Master in Public Policy from Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government.
Srishti Jaipuria, an Urban Planner, Researcher and Analyst, is now Urban Planning Consultant at Jana Urban Space Foundation. Earlier she was Project Associate at Centre for Technology Alternatives for Rural Areas (CTARA), IIT Bombay. Srishti has done B Tech in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning from University of Pune and also a comprehensive six-week emersion into the study and practice of city planning from University of California, Berkeley.
Sumit Harde has joined Surbana Jurong Private Limited as BIM Architect. Sumit has experience mainly in design management, Urban patterns and human behaviour. Earlier he was working with Dar Al-Handasah. Sumit has done B Arch from School Planning and Architecture and Masters in Urban and Rural Planning from IIT Roorkee.
