Professional movements in urban planning sector

In consonance with the hectic activities in the sector in recent times, professional movement in urban planning is also picking up pace. Here is the list of some of the movements in urban planning sector in recent months.

Ar. Geet Khurana  is now Research Fellow at Center for Urban Planning and Policy at CEPT Research and Development Foundation. Geet is an Architect and Urban Planner who has trained himself to deal with complex urban issues in the built environment. Geet is B Arch from Chandigarh College of Architecture and has done his Masters in Urban Planning from CEPT University.

Ar. Kanak Tiwari has been promoted as Lead – Urban Planning and Policy at National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA). Kanak’s Specialties and Knowledge areas include Urban Governance and Planning, Urban policy and reforms, Urban service delivery (esp. water and sanitation), Smart urbanism, Urban Design and Place Making, Urban Conservation, Heritage, etc. Kanak is B Arch from Marathwada Institute of Technology, M Arch in Urban Design from School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi and M Phil in Development Studies from University of Cambridge.

Ar. Mounica Kavya Podilapu has been appointed as Project Officer at Indian Institute of Technology Jammu. Mounica is also founder of Avani Organic Waste Management. Mounica is B Arch from School of Planning & Architecture, Vijayawada, Masters in Urban Planning, Regional Planning and Infrastructure Planning from CEPT University and Executive MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Jammu.

Ar. Nabamalika Joardar  has been promoted as the Lead – Organizational Innovation & Program Manager at National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA). Nabamalika is an urban practitioner trained in architecture and urban planning, with almost nine years of work experience. Nabamalika is B Arch from Sathyabama University, Chennai and M.Plan in Architecture & Planning (Housing) from School of Planning and Architecture Delhi.

Ar. Surya S has been appointed as Transport Planner at Centre of Excellence in Urban Transport, CRDF. With a background in architecture, Surya, in her internship, has worked on last mile connectivity project on e-Autos and e-Rickshaw for the city during its execution phase.  Surya has done her B Arch from Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Kottayam and Masters in Planning in Urban Transportation from CEPT university.

Ar. Vijaya Lakshmi has been appointed as Graduate Transport Planner at Atkins. Vijaya is a transport planner and has worked on projects related to Micro-simulation modelling, Travel demand modelling, GIS modelling and Data analysis. Vijaya has done her B Arch from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University and Masters in Transport and Logistics Planning from School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal.
