Professional movements in urban planning sector

Climate Change and Urbanisation will be at the forefront of government actions in the coming years and this factor is visible in professional movements in recent times. Here is the list of professional movements in urban planning in recent weeks.

Amit Kumar has joined School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi as Assistant Professor. Amit was earlier Senior Urban Planner & Designer at Ayodhya City Planning Project (Ayodhya Vision Document-2047). Amit holds Masters in Planning, City/Urban and Regional Planning from SPA New Delhi.

Mithila Rele is now Climate Change Consultant at Department of Environment and climate change, Govt. of Maharashtra. Mithila is a BArch from L.S. Raheja School of Architecture (Mumbai University) and holds Masters in Urban Planning from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.

Sarbeswar Praharaj is now Senior Global Futures Scientist at ASU Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory. Sarbeswar is skilled in city data analytics, smart cities, geospatial data science, urban planning, community-based resiliency systems, and sustainability science. He holds Masters degree in City Planning from CEPT University and a PhD from the University of New South Wales (UNSW Sydney).

Shivangi Arora has joined All India Institute of Local Self-Government as Project Associate. Shivangi has good research, presentation and graphical skills with software proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop, GIS, 3ds Max, Sketch Up, Lumion, V ray, etc. Shivangi has done her BArch from Bharati  Vidyapeeth and MUP, urban planning from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra  .

Sreekanth Satheesh has joined as Assistant Professor in Department of Planning at School of Planning & Architecture, Vijayawada. Sreekanth is an Urban and Regional Planner with over 2 years of experience, involved in multiple projects (Public Sector domain) of diverse requirements across different parts of India. Sreekanth has done his Bachelor of Planning from School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada and holds Master’s degree in Planning from School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal.

Srishti Jaipuria is presently working as Research Assistant at Taubman College of Architecture + Urban Planning, University of Michigan. Srishti has an undergraduate degree in BTech Planning from the College of Engineering Pune. She has also completed a summer program in City Planning from the University of California, Berkeley
