Professional movements in urban planning sector

Urban design, environment engineering, climate change and geoinformatics are the current hot topics and also the areas where most of the recruitments are happening. Here is the list of professional movements in those areas in recent times.

Icey Elzen Mathew has been appointed as Deputy Transport Planner at Jacobs. Icey is a Transport Planner with a Master’s degree in Traffic and Transportation Planning and 4 years of specialized experience in strategic transport planning and modelling domain. In the past, Icey had indulged in a range of projects for various clients including Highways England, Transport for London, Transport Northern Ireland and local county councils.

Job Thomas is now Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Engineer at Maharashtra & Goa Geo Spatial Data Centre, Survey of India. Job has undertaken several projects relating to climate change effects and the latest being a study of shoreline changes in response to sea level rise and its impact along North Goa Coast, India. Job is MSc in geoinformatics from Savitribai Phule Pune University.

Meenakshi Burman has been appointed as Senior Urban Design Designer at Oasis Designs Inc., an urban design, architecture and landscape design firm. Meenakshi is BArch from Vastu kala Academy and March in urban design from School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi.

Sahruday Gade has been appointed as Urban Planner at Aarvee Associates. Sahruday in the previous stint at Citiyano de Solutions Private Limited had worked on the Jhansi Master Plan. Sahruday is BTech from CVSR College of Engineering and has also secured Master’s degree in Urban Planning from National Institute of Technology Surat.

Swapnil Shivtarkar has been promoted as Assistant Transport Planner at WSP. Swapnil in the past has conducted and performed analysis for CVC, TMC and pedestrian survey for elevated bus rapid transport project. Swapnil is BE in civil engineering from Mumbai University and MTech in Transportation and highway engineering from National Institute of Technology, Karnataka.
