Rajasthan government is using 3D design technology to preserve and popularise historical monuments in the state from the threat of rapid urbanisation. The state government is developing 3D-Models and virtual walkthroughs of various historical monuments, heritage infrastructure important buildings, modern and old colonies. This would also help various Departments like Urban Development, Town Planning, PWD etc, to create prototypes of largescale infrastructure development, transportation planning, cadastral and land planning, town planning, modelling and impact assessments in 3D GIS environment.

Rajdharaa is the platform created by the state government that enables the maintenance of standardised geographic information system (GIS) assets across the state. This is the first of its kind initiative by any state government across the country. A 3D city model is also being created which will be integrated with Rajdharaa for providing a seamless view of the developed 3D models on web.

Further, 3D based Online Building Plan Approval System is also being developed to strengthen the Ease-of-Doing-Business by automating the approval system in State. It will provide fully automated drawing scrutiny system with a pre-check engine l Supports 2D drawings and 3D models.

Rajdharaa has been established with the primary aim of developing a state-wide web-based geo-portal to acquire, process, store, distribute, and improve the utilisation of geospatial data in adherence with the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standards. The project has also enabled the development of a data clearing house, which is the gateway of the geospatial data being generated by various agencies of the state government.
