For Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) wanting to build homes in Telangana life will soon become easy. There will be no need to run from pillar to post to get the permission to build houses if the proposed plan of the state government becomes a reality soon.
Telangana government is planning to come out with a policy which will enable the NRIs to seek permission to construct their dream house in their home village in Telangana by sitting in their house or office abroad. The Department of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development is working on a model to offer online building permissions in all Telangana villages.
As per original plans, the portal was to be ready by Diwali. However, its launch was postponed as certain new features were being added. The portal is being developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC). It may be recalled here that recently a team of officials from Telangana had visited Madhya Pradesh to study the e-panchayat model which will be implemented in Telangana too with certain additional features added to it.
