Telengana is giving more urban push

Telengana has chalked out several steps to make Hyderabad a truly global city. Implementation of the Real Estate Regulation & Development Act, creation of a water grid, construction of a regional ring road and satellite townships are some of the steps the state government will take during the current financial year. A comprehensive scheme to develop all urban local bodies is also being prepared.

Telangana government is preparing a comprehensive infrastructure development plan for all 140 urban areas including roads development, sewerage, drinking water, waste disposal, citizen services and civic amenities. This is expected to be ready by May 2019. State’s urban population is at 42% which will soon cross 50% in the next few years, hence the government is getting geared up to tackle the migration.

Report card for the just concluded financial year is also reasonably good with achievements like operation of metro rail, completion of outer ring road, replacement of traditional lights with LED streetlights, steady progress of all ongoing drinking water projects and setting up of open gym equipment and infrastructure, especially roads.

The Real Estate Regulation & Development Act would become effective during 2018 and it will aim at protecting the interest of home buyers.
