Unique street design contest for arch students

A unique street design competition #BengalurigeBeku #BetterStreets for students of architecture and urban planning in Bengaluru is planned. The competition is arranged by Citizens for Bengaluru (CfB) and Dayananda Sagar College of Architecture.

To register, students have to mail their college name along with the names of their team members (only up to four) to [email protected] The team has to register within a week, select a street and complete the designing by two weeks.

The main objective of the competition is to make the students to get to know the conditions of the roads in Bengaluru and involve them in their betterment. Also with such competitions, it is hoped that more and more professionals from the architecture fraternity will participate in urban planning. In fact, recent re-design of Church Street in Bengaluru has evoked increased interest by the architects in urban design and planning.

Citizens for Bengaluru (CfB) is a voluntary movement of, by, and for the people of Bengaluru.   The movement is focused on improving the quality of life, for all, in the city. Many infrastructure and public projects in the city are inadequately reviewed at the concept stage, poorly thought-out, planned and implemented, sometimes in haste and as a result they end up not meeting their intended objectives. CfB aims to address this problem by following due process, actively involving the public and consulting and leveraging the vast professional and living experience of the city’s citizenry.
