Former Ofo India director of public policy and communications, Rajarshi Rakesh Sahai, has joined Zurich-based venture capital firm Ennea VC as its newest partner. Ennea Capital Partners makes investments in travel, mobility, media, and blockchain start-ups. Ennea, which has multiple portfolio investments in India, plans to invest in the country’s urban mobility segment in the near future.
Sahai has over 14 years of experience in Urban, Housing & Architecture, Public Policy, Smart Cities, Sustainable Transport and Strategic Planning in India and elsewhere in Europe and Asia. Ennea is a venture capital and growth advisory firm with offices in Zurich, London, Berlin, and Munich. Sahai will work from Ennea’s Amsterdam and India offices to cover European and Indian markets.
Sahai’s previous job was at Ofo India where he served as GM and head of public policy for Ofo in India leading its communications, business development, marketing, operations, government relations and partnerships. Previously he performed a similar role for TRAFI, a British startup in the mobility space.
He worked as lead Urban Planner for MPUSP, A DFID project in India. His responsibilities included policy, project management, Private sector relations, procurement etc. He handled business development and prospect management systems of ICF-GHK and worked on projects like EU Schengen Visa, as team leader Affordable housing for UK Aid, etc.
At Infosys, as Smart Cities lead he worked as a strategic advisor to Government of India and was instrumental in developing the company’s partnerships with private sector in Design Thinking and Smart City Systems.
