Rana P.B. Singh [b. 1950], MA, PhD (BHU, India); FJF (Japan), FAAI (Italy), FACLA (Korea), ‘Ganga Ratna’ (Ganga Mahasabha), ‘Koshal Ratna’ (Koshal Res. Inst.); has been Professor of Geography (spel. Cultural Landscapes & Heritage Studies) and Head of Department (2013~2015) at Banaras Hindu University, and involved in studying and promoting the cultural/sacred landscapes, pilgrimages and heritage planning in Varanasi region since over four decades, and also did field studies in Japan, Sweden, Italy, and Rep. Korea. On these topics, he has given lectures and seminars at various centres in all parts of the world. His publications include 296 papers and 41 books, including The Spirit and Power of Place (1994), Cosmic Order & Cultural Astronomy (2009), Heritagescapes and Cultural Landscapes (2011), Sacredscapes and Pilgrimage Systems (2011), Indo-Kyosei Global Ordering (2011), and Hindu Tradition of Pilgrimage (2013).

Pravin S. Rana [b. 1978], MTM, UGC NET, Ph.D.; Assistant Professor in Tourism Management, Faculty of Arts, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, having experience of teaching over 16-years. He holds a Master degree in Tourism Management (2000), and published a dozen of papers in this area. He is a co-author of Banaras Region, A Spiritual and Cultural Guide (2002/2006, Indica Books, Varanasi, with Rana P.B. Singh), Tourism Geography (2006, New Royal Book Co., Lucknow, with A.K. Singh), and author of Pilgrimage Tourism: A Study of Varanasi Region (2014, SRME, Sagar). During Aug. 2005-July 2009, he had served as Manager of the Children Programme at World Literacy of Canada India Office; and also gave seminars in Norway, Canada, and Singapore. He is also associated as an Indian Tourism Congress Life Member; INTACH-Life Member; Fellow Gifu University, Japan; and Active member of Forum UNESCO – University and Heritage-International network (FUUH), Spain.
