Conservation tender for Shimla station

Railways has decided to undertake conservation work of Shimla station. The project is significant in the sense that the station lies on UNESCO World Heritage Site Kalka Shimla Railway. Built in 1903, it is one of the oldest stations in India. The station comes under the jurisdiction of Ambala railway division.

Ambala Division of Northern Railway has invited bids for Heritage conservation of Shimla station building including façade improvement, fixing of analog clock, ornamental grill fencing etc. at Shimla station. Total cost of the project is estimated to be Rs 26.85 lakh. Last date for submitting the tender is 06/09/2018.
